During my corporate career as a VP of Marketing, I used to travel... a lot! There were months that I was away from home 50% of my time managing a team across Canada and in the U.S. as well as attending conferences and events. That didn't stop me from keeping healthy and fit though!
When I landed in any destination, I would hit up a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's to stock up my hotel room and mini fridge. I would also aim to get a room with a kitchenette so I could make breakfast, lunches and dinners knowing that the ingredients were clean and healthy and would stabilize my blood sugar to keep energy high during busy days.
Here were, and still are, my top 20 snacks when I am on the road:
1. Raw, soaked and dry roasted nuts—almonds, macadamias, cashews, mixed nuts
2. Bars such as:
Epic Bars (for Paleo peeps)
Vega Bars
Quest Bars

Macro Bars
Bulletproof Bars
That’s It Bars
3. Seaweed Snacks
4. Roasted pepitas (pumpkin seeds)
5. Raw energy bites
6. Mary’s Gone Crackers or Simple Mills Crackers with hummus
